By: Deborah Rodriguez

Houston was electrified on the night of YUGYEOM’s first-ever solo tour in the city, as the “TRUSTY Tour” kicked off with undeniable energy and raw talent. For fans, this moment had been years in the making. The last time the singer and dancer graced Houston was during GOT7’s “Eyes On You” tour in 2018, and the anticipation had only grown since.

The second the lights dimmed, the roar of the crowd signaled the arrival of YUGYEOM, who took the stage with his signature swagger and opened with the sultry “I Want U Around” from his EP, Point of View: U. His voice soared effortlessly as his sharp dance moves captivated the crowd, reminding everyone why he is considered one of K-pop’s most impressive solo acts.

With each song, YUGYEOM’s presence filled the venue. “LOLO” and “WOOYAYA” followed, and it was clear that the crowd was fully immersed in the experience, singing along in unison. YUGYEOM, ever the performer, encouraged his fans to belt out the lyrics, which only amplified the connection between him and his loyal fanbase. In between songs, he took moments to express his gratitude, his beaming smile never faltering as the fans’ cheers washed over him.

As the night progressed, YUGYEOM took the audience on a journey, delivering fan favorites from his most recent EP, TRUST, including “Be Alright,” “Ponytail,” and “Dance.” But it was the performance of “All Your Fault,” his collaboration with Cha Cha Malone and GRAY, that sent the crowd into a frenzy. The track, with its infectious beats and catchy hooks, had everyone on their feet, and the cheers afterward were deafening.

True to his reputation, YUGYEOM didn’t just sing—he embodied every lyric with his captivating dance routines. Accompanied by two dancers, he elevated each performance with intricate choreography that showcased his versatility and passion for both music and movement. His outfits, a mix of stylish sleeveless tees, sparkly baggy jeans, and dark cargos, spoke to his unique sense of fashion, giving fans yet another reason to admire his individuality.

The grand finale of the night came during the encore, when YUGYEOM stunned fans with an electrifying performance of “1 MINUTE” and “WUH,” before delivering an unexpected and emotional rendition of GOT7’s “Hard Carry.” Fans erupted with nostalgia as the iconic track filled the venue, and YUGYEOM, wearing a cowboy hat to honor his Texas fans, even jumped off the stage to get closer to the crowd, leaving everyone speechless.

Before the final curtain came down, YUGYEOM took a moment to address his fans, revealing he would soon be completing his mandatory enlistment. He thanked everyone for their unwavering support and promised that, while this chapter was coming to an end, there was much more to come when he returned. His sincerity, humility, and love for his fans were palpable, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the room.

As the lights came up and the fans slowly filed out of the venue, one thing was clear: Houston will be eagerly awaiting his return. Until then, his fans can continue to enjoy the unforgettable moments on the rest of his tour. See below for details:
